Our Mission
The Bellarmine Veterans Foundation is a renewed effort that strives to honor and share the contributions of Bellarmine's alumni veterans and service members, connecting them to broader veterans advocacy and reminding students that the legacy of those in uniform lives on.
Service does not stop when the uniform comes off. In Bellarmine's Cardinal Newspaper, during the height of World War 2, a writer reflected: "To date, no Jesuit has given a complete list of its men in Service... Let us get behind this project and put Bellarmine on the map as the first to show every one of our men that we really care." These efforts hardened into reality with the work of Andrew Song, a Bellarmine graduate from the Class of 2018, Yale alumni, and submarine officer, who began the process of veteran recognition and connection at Bellarmine.
Through research, documentation, and community engagement, the Bellarmine Veterans Foundation was formed in 2025. Our work includes maintaining an interactive memorial map, documenting veteran profiles with professional feature films, and hosting events that bring our community together in remembrance and respect. As our efforts expand, we hope this website can serve as a proud reflection of our ongoing efforts for veteran recognition.

Our 2026 Veterans Dinner
April 24, 2026 was our first student-led dinner for veteran recognition. Dozens of guests joined us at Palermo Italian Restaurant — alumni who served, alongside the students who spent the year researching them.
