Veteran of 35 missions, chiefly in the European Theatre of war. arrived home in Los Altos last November 16 on a 21 day leave. Bob graduated from Bellarmine Prep in the class of 1940 and worked at the Navy Yards. Mare Island, and later at the U. S. Nasal dry docks until induction into the Army at the Presidio of Monterey in January. 1943 He holds the DFC and the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters. The award was for “extraordinary achievement" at an Eighth Air Force bomber station in England.
